Taylor Ray's Cafe

Taylor Ray's is a cozy coffee shop in Olympia/Lacey Washington run by me, Shannon, a proud Washington State native of over 30 years (go Seahawks!).

I named Taylor Ray’s after my two sons: Skyler Ray and Jordan Taylor. I’m proud to call Taylor Ray’s a women-owned business, and most importantly, a place where everyone feels welcome.

When I was pregnant with my second son, Jordan, I contracted a rare auto-immune disease called Behcet’s disease. This disease changed my life, leaving me legally blind in both eyes and derailing my career ambitions. I felt hopeless in the beginning, but with the support of my family, I found a whole new purpose in life.

Skyler Ray Warnke, the "Ray" in Taylor Ray's, has helped shape our cafe's friendly and customer-focused atmosphere. I leaned on him in the early years for his exceptional people management skills and customer focus. Nowadays, he has a very successful career in management. Skyler occasionally stops by our Olympia location for coffee; although, I’m convinced he comes to relive his humble beginnings.

Jordan Taylor Warnke, the "Taylor" in Taylor Ray's, created this website and was our marketing visionary. While attending the University of Washington, he dedicated hours to carving out Taylor Ray’s digital footprint. Jordan is now focused on a career in California but remains a big part of my life and story.

Without the support of my family, Taylor Ray’s would just be a vision. I’m proud to be serving the Olympia/Hawkes Prairie area. Almost ten years later, I still pinch myself to check I’m not dreaming!
